hey guys, i have a 1.6 93 miata with a megasquirt v2.2 and i'm not getting a tach signal on the rpm gauge.... i have done both the spark mod and the cas signal mod like it says on the sticky on here. wondering if theres anything else to check or maybe something i have not done. any help appreciated, thanks!

 

Is the tach that isn't responding the tach in MegaTune or the tach on your dashboard?

 

oh yea sorry i didnt specify i'm talking about the dash, but the car wont start either. last time i checked on mega tune when we cranked it, it showed like 100 rpms but that was before we did the mods for the cas input since we did the mods.

 

I guess the mods are really editing **** nowaday's...where'd my post go?

 

ya the ms showed 260 rpms while cranking

 

i've noticed that the plugs spark when i put the igniton to the "on" position, but it's a faint spark. and when i'm cranking i sometimes get a loud back fire. we using Braineack base map. i have the spark md hooked up to x12 and x13 so that would mean pin 27 and 29 hooked up to the ignitor right?

 

ok guys got it sorted out. if you mod the 2.2 board to x12 and x13 then its not the same ignitor wires as shown in the super important MS sticky. we also had a bad connection in the tach signal wire but now it starts right up! Thanks for all the help the sticky makes MSing so easy!

 

Glad to hear it's working - I was worried you'd fried your ignitors, which is the usual way these threads end up going.
