Default Plugged in my MS

So for the past couple days I plugged in my MS and started playing with everything. Bought a '94-95 Plug and Play.

Car started up right on the first key turn, and runs great.

Now I get to play with the MS and have some real fun!

Damned G/F is already getting irritated with me bringing my laptop around with me in the car all the time.

She'll get over it, or get left at home more often

Wish me luck... I guess.

Mine hates it with a passion.

Enjoy your MS, its pretty great being able to adjust pretty much everything with the push of a button.

Then she'll understand

I was already playing with the fuel table with a friend making adjustments, it really is neat just punching in a few different numbers and seeing how much better it idles with just a small few changes.

Congrats! Always good to hear of another system up and running.

I'll definitely add +1 to Paul's advice as to the saving of MSQs. Every time you you make a change, any change, save an MSQ. I keep mine organized into folders (by month) and I try to give each one a descriptive filename. For example: 08AprAM_add2deg_Spark2.msq means that I saved the file on April 8, in the morning, and that the change I made was to add 2 degrees of timing to the Spark2 table.

It's tedious with a keyboard-less tablet, but very worthwhile when I want to quickly glance over a month's worth of files to get an idea of what changes I made when. The logs go in the same folder, and get the same name as their corresponding MSQ.

Meaty! Whats up man! You got one too? I'm getting ready to plug mine in tonight or maybe wait till the weekend. Are you running any kind of manual timing advance, or are you set at stock timing on the CAS? Did you build your initial file or did you get a base file from someone? Thanks bud!

Here's what's been going on so far.

Had the MS in for a week now.

I started out with the base map that came in the PNP and worked from there.

I WAS running with stock 1.8 injectors, and a BEGI Rising Rate FPR.

I yanked that crap out, and threw some MX-6 turbo injectors (gotta go back to my F2T roots here somewhere in this project. 320cc injectors running great).

The car starts a bit rough, doesnt want to idle at first, but once the car starts to warm up, it runs pretty decent.

From the stock base map I've had to take anywhere from 30-45 down on the VE Fuel map throughout the RPM/kpa ranges. It was dumping more fuel in that my wideband gauge could read, enough to choke the car out and keep it from going past 5500 RPM.

I had a friend ride with me, and we adjusted the fuel tables, and everything is running great so far. Car will pull decently through the RPM band, but still needs some more tuning, as it feels it's still a bit restricted due to running a bit rich still.

Car still needs some tuning for starting, but so far, so good. I'm putting in another motor this weekend, as the one I'm on now is getting some blow-by and I have the blue cloud of doom following me around, much like Crown Vics and Caprice Classics and old Dodges have.

I've also got some "colder" plugs to put in. I also have to wire in the wideband O2 sensor and the IAT sensor to the MSPNP.

I haven't messed with the base timing yet, but I left it at about stock after I put the supercharger in, to keep things conservative and keep from blowing anything up without proper fuel management and just using band aids.

Did you change the ReqFuel setting and/or the Opening Time setting in "Engine Constants 1"? That should eliminate (or at least greatly reduce) alterations to the VE table when changing injectors.
