It seems to get a little better after 20-30 seconds. I think you probably have bad after start enrichment values. Once the after start kicks off and it smooths out a bit, the problem is likely warm up enrichment.

Other things to check:
1) Spark from both coils?
2) Bad gas?

You can also try adjusting the idle screw out a bit to raise the idle. I had to bump mine up slightly with the MS.

If performing a basic task such as 'check for spark' defeats you, perhaps installing your own standalone engine management system was a few steps over your head?

Install new plugs while you're at it.
Just stick the plug in the end of the plug wire and turn the car over with the plug near the metal engine hoist bracket. Get someone else to turn the key if you have to.

yea, i just replaced them not to long ago, but i will again, and i googled the other part says get friend to turn key as you said and hold new ground and look for spark or just hold it by the plug as you said. If i get no spark does that mean my coil pack went?

If you get no spark while using new plugs that means your coil or ignitor is dead or your wiring is bad or your MS isn't setup right. All kinds of options. Check if you have spark first then go from there.

Ignitors can be found cheap used, search. You can also grab them from a 91-94 DSM (Talon, Laser, Eclipse) 2.0L turbo. Maybe the 2.0L N/T as well.

If the ignitor is all you blow during the course of your turbo miata build I will be amazed.

Check the vacuum line capped on the extreme rear of the intake to see if it has blown off if you find that your spark is OK.
