Default sucking noise under mild accel

im having a sucking noise under mild acceleration between 2300 to 3500rpm.
is this detonation or what? doesent sound that much like a ping sound to me.
or is it just a normal sound?

the car is a 93 miata with diy turbo kit and MSpnp.

lol... reminds me of the story where the old guy bought a turbo'ed supra from a kid and brought it in to the dealer 3 times with a complaint that it "wooshes" between shifting each gear...... needless to say he sold the car to MY friend and my friend found the complaint papers in the glovebox

Loud air filter? Just fill your engine bay with foam and you won't have that problem anymore.
