does anyone know if megasquirt will work with an 06 miata. Everyone keeps throwing 2005 and lower
|
Will it work: Yes.
Is there a large knowledge base that supports it and has experience with it: No |
Thank you and if I just read the manuals and learned like everyone else and took my times things shouldn't be to difficult eh?

Hi All,
Does anyone have pictures of the actual wiring in of the resistors for the distributor pull ups needed by MS? I just want to see how it should look. I have seen plenty of wiring schematics. Thanks |

What MS variant, on what year Miata?
Any advice and really a picture or 2 of the unwrapped but already connected resistors would really be great. DIYauto also said to find 1/4 resistors, they didn't mention any other specs for the resistors. I have bags of resistors to choose from. Thanks |
Can anyone school me on how Reverant's MS3 solution is different ( if it is ) than Braineack's MS3 ?
I'm trying not to bother Rev with too many question today and also want to get different inputs / point of views. Thanks. |

Braineack builds standard MS3X's that you would get if you followed the MegaManual to build a MS3. Reverant uses the main MS3 board, and then designed his own expander board with his own circuits and such for all the extra features.
Looks like the MSPNP PRO also plugs directly into the stock harness as well? |

Sorry to bump this thread, but I was looking at differences between the MSPNP PRO and the MS3X DIY PNP (aka brain's unit). They're functionally the same in a different box right? Both built on the MS3 board?

The MSPNP Pro uses a board based on the MS3Pro - the short version is that it was almost a clean slate design where we looked at each circuit to see if it had room to be made more efficient, reliable, or reduce electrical noise. In addition to having knock input standard, we've given the MSPNP Pro built in peak and hold injector outputs, and keep them in stock ready for immediate shipping (worst case if you order at a really bad time is that it may take our solder tech 1-3 days to catch up).

Thanks! I was just trying to understand this stuff as I learn more about megasquirt and my unit in particular. |
Depending on how a DIY MS3 is built, it may or may not have knock input.

Thanks for the info Matt. Hopefully this helps someone else in the future as well. |
Hi,
Can anyone enlighten me as to the differences or benefits of one over the other, between a MSLabs MS3 and DIY MSPNP Pro? Can the MSPNP Pro accept a digital wideband signal via the CAN Bus as the MSLabs can (with their CAN Wideband Module)? Perhaps the MSPNP Pro can accept the MSLabs CAN Wideband Module? Also, does the MSPNP Pro have OBD-II output? Thanks |
you've basically just outlined the differences and advantages...
|
949 Racing advertise their mspnp with
none of others advertise this as a feature, including diyauto, which appears to be same ecu as 949 picture. Is this a typo by 949 or a feature exclusive to them? |
That's an old diypnp feature. The MS3 ecus don't have it.
