Question Swap issues 1.6 to 1.8 MS2

Hello guys,
I have my stock Mazda Miata 1.6 85kW (1192). I've bought another Mazda Miata 1.8 turbo TD04 with MS2 DIYPNP (1994). I want to swap 1.8 engine with megasquirt into my 1.6 chassis and wiring harness.

I checked some wiring diagrams and it looks pretty similar. I will follow instructions from flyin miata guide 1.6 to 1.8 swap. So I will use 1.6 coils, 1.6 throttle body. BUT!

I'm not sure if I can use 1.6 wiring harness for 1.8 turbo engine and MS2 (which was running on 1.8 wiring harness before). I made some diagrams (green ones are the same, pink ones are different and purple are different to, but I will dont use them).

Any advice please? I don't want to burn my ECU =

1994 1.8 page 1/2

My advice would be keep the 1.8 throttle body. In order to use the 1.6, you need to add in a thick adapter, which makes routing intakes and charge pipes more difficult in an already tight space.

I would also advise you get the correct ECU for your wiring harness.

Thank you, i will keep 1.8 throttle body and will plug it directly into ECU, then i will repin cooling fan and some grounds.

problem is that I already have MS ECU.
