Default tricky cold start

hi everyone, i seem to have a little niggly problem with cold starts on my NA 1.6. I can start the car if i mess about with the throttle but when it runs i have to keep on the throttle alittle so the revs stay up, when the car is warmed up it then runs perfectly.
This only happens when its cold, when i start from hot its perfect.
Also i have a COP conversion on my engine using celica vvti coils, since plugging in my megasquirt my tacho dosent work...... when i plug the standard coilpack in..... the tacho works perfectly.
is there a setting i need to apply to my MS1PNP i need to change so i can get the tacho to work?

sounds like the cranking curve is too rich on cold starts and the cold-start idle settings are not aggressive enough.

Two more things to check are your after-start enrichment settings, and make sure your Air Valve is working correctly
