I don't know if it's of any help but I've seen that someone is using Tunerstudio on Mac OS X 10.6.x on the msextra forum.

AEM and AFR reading

Win7 Home Premium 64bit:

For my AFR Target tables to show up as AFR instead of volts using AEM I had to edit the mainController file in c:\users\Name\My Documents\TunerStudioProjects\Miata\projectCfg\mainController

Where Name is your username and Miata is whatever you called your project.

Changed these lines per instructions from the sticky thread

Look for the following lines in that "page = 7" section:

#elif AEM_LINEAR
afrBins1 = array, U08, 0, [8x8], "Volts", 0.0196, 0, 0.0, 5.0, 2

You want to make the following changes, which I've highlighted in red:

#elif AEM_LINEAR
afrBins1 = array, U08, 0, [8x8], "AFR", 0.038666, 255.0, 10.0, 20.0, 1

Also had to either adjust or disable User Account Control.

What do you mean by this?

Turbo_4 01-26-2010 09:58 PM

Well for some reason mine still says there are unit mismatches every time I load up my msq.

Braineack 01-26-2010 10:09 PM

I told him he needed to check that too! I think. I had the same error, but it only happened the first time I opened the msq after changing to AFR's.

There's no configurator option under TS...The only way to get to it is through MS...am I supposed to activate it through ms?

Mach929 01-27-2010 03:32 PM

it's under the project

Sorry, then you gotta go to File > Project > Project Properties

Then under the configuration tab, change the ECU definition to "MS/Extra format hr_10 *******" If you dont have that, select other, then browse to the file you should have downloaded:

this one: http://boostedmiata.com/MS/msq/firmw...extra.ini.hr10

Turbo_4 01-27-2010 03:49 PM

Okay so I just started a new project and use that hr10 file as my firmare file. I activated it through MS and changed it to the AFR instead of volts. Now when I open my project it does not tell me about the differences. But, if I go in and just load my msq rather than loading the project first it says there is an error.

popopopop 01-27-2010 03:51 PM

You can put the MSQ in your project folder and it'll load that one.

Turbo_4 01-27-2010 03:53 PM

Yeah....If I just click the msq on my desktop is loads under TEMP. So instead I just open up TS, open my specific project, and there you go...no error. Thanks!

Braineack 01-27-2010 04:09 PM

Yeah, I'm still getting used to the project nuances myself, I still use MT for loading other's files because it's easier to swap between projects with errors and crap.

Turbo_4 01-27-2010 04:11 PM

Where exactly are you sticking the msq in your project folder? Just generally in the specific folder or one of the sub-folders? When I open the project if no longer says the name of the msq at the bottom right portion of the screen like it would otherwise.

Braineack 01-27-2010 04:26 PM

there should be a default or offlinetune .msq file that gets created for each project, so long as you open TS it'll preload the last tune you saved so you shouldnt be clicking on msq files, just open the software and itll already be loaded.

Turbo_4 01-27-2010 04:32 PM

Ahhhh okay, I'm still just getting used to this so thanks for being understanding. I'm used to the simplicity of a dtec.

If you make any offline changes to the MSQ file on the controller, TS can be made to perform a "difference report" upon connecting. Previous versions of TS prior to the auto-tune update had this defaulted to "on". The recent update has this option turned off, I thought it was an update bug but Richyvrltd brought the option to my attention and I turned it back on.
It's under OPTIONS - PREFERENCES - PERFORM DIFFERENCE REPORT UPON CONNECT. Handy to have on if you like to hand-smooth and make changes in the comfort of your own home while offline or if you are constantly opening other peoples maps in your project.

Are there just three inc files that you need to copy overto the inc folder in the TS project directory?... Airdenfactor, matfactor, and thermfactor?
