A complete PCM if you don't currently own MegaSquirt from the diyautotune.com website: $365 for a V3.0 unassembled kit with MS3 daughterboard, and $540 for a complete MS3 V3.57
I assume one retains the majority of the factory wiring (injector harness, TPS, IAC, MAP sensor) and connectors and then adapt the MS computer to it? I'm doing a 364ci forged LS2 setup with a GT88 T6 turbo and looking into MS or BigStuff3. Pretty much been poking around several websites to gain a better understanding of MS. Some nice features in MS3 I found: Two wideband oxygen sensor input (external controller required) Various boost control systems (gear, time, speed based) 2 step type launch control Supports external data capture boards (e.g. for external EGT boards) EGT data support (with external amplifier) Dual fuel (e.g. LPG) ***you can run E85 and 91 octane for example....*** Individual cylinder injector trim Injector phase timing Individual cylinder spark trim |

Whats the word on controlling VVT with MS3? Whats new to the MS3 that allows this possibility? I will soon need to decide between ms2, and ms3.
MSIII VVT control is happening but Ken has said in the past that it's some way off yet. MSIII has lots more outputs/inputs, memory and processing power. |
He wants to write code for it, he has told me this.

Ken says he will work on VVT support once 1.0 firmware is out. So sometime late summer I believe. I will hopefully be the test car for it.

I wonder if it will be capable to control the Honda VTC?
I swear, the next company that invents any kind of mechanism to vary the geometry / timing / duration / etc. of anything under the hood needs to break ranks and just name the damn thing Steve. I'm getting tired of all these frakking acronyms. http://img37.imagefra.me/img/img37/6...pm_f034176.jpg |
That's a cat. Where is the duck?

Fiat's called their variable valve timing setup "Multiair." It's a start.

You get infinitely - within it's range of movement -variable lift and duration from it, no step change a-la VTEC. I Like the acronyms, makes me sound clever when I can recite them, the ladies find it irresistable, (in my dreamland!) |
