Will the ms 2.2 control timing?

I ordered the MS with the PCB2.2 board and the JIM stim. I have built the stim but after reading I am thinking I need the 3.0 PCB. Anybody have advice on this? By the way its for a 1990 1.6 with a turbo and IC and I want to use MS to control fuel and also timing.

Yes, the 2.2 will do timing running the MSNSe code.

It certainly can. See this link - it's written with DSMs in mind, but Miatas use almost the same ignition.
