Listen and lift, is that like the pull out at the last min sort of procedure

Interesting link thanks.

I'm only spinning the blower at 12320rpm, so from the data in the links it looks like i'm just starting to level off on the VE curve.

I'd be a bit wary of your knock detections method though, even when i know my cars knocking and when it's knocking i still can't hear it, top up or top down.

Only way i can hear any knock while driving is if i go through a tunnel or drive next to a high concrete wall.

The knock i was experiencing at the stock timing curve when i first went to 11psi was not audible at all, my KnockLite has 2 level, mild knock (yellow light) and severe knock (red).

When i experienced the yellow light at 9psi just 2-3 degrees retard was enough to see it off, now at 11psi i've had to retard 5-6 degrees before it stays off.

TBH i'm chuffed to bollox at 11psi, so i'll be sticking here.

Ideally i would have loved to keep the great throttle response i have now without a IC, but the under bonnet temps and timing retard even before summer arrives has convinced me to go for a IC.

Cheers
Mark
