I'm thinking about gauging interest on a tank that is form fitted to fit into the spare tire well that you could put the oem carpet over - it would have a clear fill hose that snaked up to near the rear left tail light in the trunk so you would a.) not lose any trunk space from a tank and b.) could have your whole tank full of crap and still be able to fill it up (and see the level in the clear hose to know when its full.

I may start another thread about this. I don't personally even have a turbo, but this is something I could deffinately make and I know some local guys with turbos and SCs that may be interested in prototypes for me to test fit on and stuff and maybe you guys would be interested? Capacity would be far more than other current options. I would anticipate roughly 2 gallons. For comparison, the NA washer tank is ~0.42 gallons and the 5L tank Joe Perez just bought is 1.32 gallons (and a generic 5L fluid tank is going to take up a ton of trunk space no matter how you look at it, and we already don't have tons of space in the trunk.)

Just curious is I should look into this guys. I've already figured out how to make the whole thing.
The only thing you would have to do once you bought my tank would be to drill a small hole in the bottom of the spare tire well to run the drain line out of and up to the front of the car. It would essentially be a drop in kit though. Just buy the Devils Own kit and my tank and you are set. I think I would thread a hole in the bottom of the tank for whatever the threads are on the fitting that the Devils Own kit uses on the peice that screws into the bottom of the tank.

Let me know guys.

I'd love to see something like that, except that for us '90-'97 types it won't help much. We don't have a spare tire well, just a slight rectangular depression a few inches deep. (you can see it in the picture at the top of this thread) The spare tire itself is stuffed up into the space behind the tunnel, on the right side (as viewed from behind). You see that area with no carpet where the pump is on 96rdstr's setup? That's where the spare sits.

The NA spare kills a lot of trunk space, and that's where I'm hoping my 5l tank will go. It's gonna be a close one- we'll see when it gets here...

I built a cardboard mock-up of the D.O. 4 liter tank based on measurements I got from the D.O. forum. It just doesn't fit anywhere except for the exact spot that 96rdstr put it. Which sucks, because I need to keep that area clear so I can fit my toolbox in the trunk.

I wonder if you could get around the starvation issues by using some sort of bladder inside the housing? That way it wouldn't really matter what shape it is. Might make having a low fluid warning difficult.

Okay I used the wrong term that whole time. I mean the depression in the bottom of the trunk. Then it would be just a flat trunk.
