intereting tanks and options.

i was doing some design research today and found this.

i was particularly interested in these.

it would be pretty helpful for concealing a tank or putting one in a difficult area to access and refill.

Nice find! Do they have a price list? Still looking for a tank with a low level switch....kinda like how our brake fluid resevoir works.

y8s 04-19-2007 09:47 AM

you can get low-level switches from aquamist and other places (Devils Own or Coolingmist--I forget which). Drill and mount. two wires to run.

I think you'll have to call flambeau themselves up...

Braineack 04-19-2007 09:56 AM

what's his face was looking for a filler thing like that.

0.25L :o

Bit small, i'd have to pop out the car at every traffic light and fill it up.

I'm running a 8.5L water tank and find i have to fill it up about once a week.

Cheers
Mark

once a week heck i filled up once a day, with my 6-7 liter tanks. You must not drive to hard

I only do 10 miles a week :p

:)

In 10 miles something must be way wrong with your setup. can you break it down for me. You should not use 8 liters in 10 miles. There is no way. you would have to be running a 12 gallon per hour nozzle at full steam. or 800 cc/min if you will.

So spill it man what are you running. Something does not seem rigth here. this is akin to a 15 mpg miata, there is no way you are getting this much usage and having the kit perform the way it should.

eunos1800 04-20-2007 10:42 AM

i was being sarcastic, English humour sorry :)

eunos1800 04-20-2007 10:47 AM

I do between 300km- 500km a week and i get through about 8 Litres of water in that time.

I use distilled water, and it comes in 4 litre bottles so it's fairly easy to keep track.

Remember this is Athens though, so 3/4 of all journey time is in traffic jams.

1 gph nozzle given standard pressure hmm you most definetly need more tunning.

If you are meaning ME, I solved the problem and built a remote fill system:

clever.

that page i linked has larger tanks, you have to click through some of the links.

Mouglie 04-21-2007 01:02 AM

i can build custom tanks for whatever space you need it, i do Fiberglass as a hobby... I drive an NA so name a spot and i can get started on a project... lol... well the only thing i can't build is the part with the lid just because thats a pain in the a$$

kung fu jesus 04-21-2007 01:17 AM

what about a tank that fits in the well of the trunk, in the center?

i wonder if one could be fit under the passenger's seat? (low center of gravity)

I've got 2 jets, 0.3mm preSC and a 0.4mm on the dummy TB.

I've measured the flow at various duty cycles (HSV and EMU).

10% DC = 50ml/min
30% DC = 142ml/min
50% DC = 200ml/min

I've not physically measured the injectors, but they are rated at 430cc/min.
430cc x 4 = 1730cc/min at 100% DC
15% (water) = 260cc

I'm squirting a max of 60% DC (water) but gradually decreasing this level depending on my Injector DC.
I'm starting injecting fairly early compared to other WI systems i've seen as i'm starting at 1psi.
But as 15% is only 28ml/min of water i recon i'm alright.

I've tried various levels, but i feel as though i start losing a bit of throttle response at over 20% water.

This is my install:

1 psi is to low you dont need WI for 3-4 psi start higher and you wont be quenching the exhaust as bad. Also why not go 100% DC that is what i run it works. The Variable dealy you use should not be effected by this.

i think the trunk idea would work nice... can you make me a sketch as to where the fittings would go and what the top of it would look and i'll make a DIY guide on it...
