Does anybody know where one can find outside mount nozzles? I don't mean buying them from DO, snow, or Coolingmist, I mean where are they buying them from?

I've found several dozen vendors who sell misting / atomizing nozzles of the sort that we need, but every single one of them is inside-mount.

snow used em in my kit. you can swap out the jets inside there and such its decent but i like the quick disconnect stuff better on mine. there is also some quick disconnect stuff outside mount as well http://www.coolingmist.com/detailmain.aspx?pid=13N180 from cooling mist if you know your size already and can specify before hand.

What does that mean, exactly?

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with inside-mount nozzles from a performance standpoint, but from a mechanical fitment standpoint I need some outside-mount units.

 

i dont know if they still use them or not cause i bought my **** like 3 yrs ago and havent dealt with them since. lol
Newb i like the outside mount quick disconnects above all they pwn. less **** to breack on me in there.

That's nice. I know that Snow sells 'em, along with Coolingmist and DO. I want to know where you can get them from someone other than a WI kit vendor. IOW, where do they get them?

None of those are outside mount.

I've been to all the industrial supplier sites I can find, both the US ones and the Chinese-import sites. Can't find anything with outside thread on the business end.

 

I can't find them either. Go get another lathe, turn down the hex end and cut some threads.

 

I was gonna suggest that OR

get some smooth ended external (male) pipe plugs and a teenie tiny drill bit and just screw them (backwards) into something else with a lot of threadlocker and leave half of it hanging out. if you use brass, you can solder them together.





of course this assumes a straight tiny hole is a decent nozzle.

 

It also assumes that there's no filter screen.

 

inline filters/screens are probably easier to find than magic externally threaded nozzles, no?

 

True. I've got a source on some fine-mesh inline filters, though they're sufficiently large that they'd need to go up at the pump. Trying to be as paranoid as possible about the chance of tiny bits of spooge being in the line or intermediate hardware. IOW, a screen at the nozzle will catch anything.

The idea merits investigation however. I've found some drill bits that (if I can find something steady enough to hold them) would probably work. Time for some flow testing...

 

 

Yeah, not so sure about reinventing the wheel... I just got some nozzles yesterday. There's stuff in there...


This part looks like it'd be hard to duplicate:

 

iono maybe mcmaster car. I got selenoids from them identical to the **** they sell.

 

Tried that. McMaster has a tonne of nozzles, but they all seem to be the more common inside-mount variety.

 

Yeah I looked at mcmaster as well and did not see them.

Outside mount FTW. Easier to change out, less likely to fall into the inlet tract and get sucked into the engine.

It isn't.

The picture you have shown is an outside-mount nozzle, which is exactly what I'm looking for. Only for reasons other than because I'm concerned about it falling into the engine.

What about dry nitrous nozzles?
