'01 6 speed trans, 30k miles

I'd like to sell this locally in the Balt-DC-VA area unless you're willing to make a road trip. I don't have the shifter unfortunately, just the bare trans.

$500.

Exactly what I'm looking for. I'd take it for sure, but that's an 11-hour trip one way...

mighty mouse 10-08-2008 11:17 AM

wow that's a great price

18psi 10-08-2008 11:31 AM

UrbanSoot 10-08-2008 01:15 PM

oh... come the fuck on! i just paid fucking $400 for 30k mile 5 speed!!!!! this is so fucking unfair!

RotorNutFD3S 10-08-2008 01:30 PM

Well, unless someone is coming down to Atlanta from that region and can pick it up for me and bring it closer, I'm making the trip.

Newbsauce 10-08-2008 01:39 PM

Are you picking this up for sure? If not i'm gonna grab it this weekend.

RotorNutFD3S 10-08-2008 01:45 PM

It's for sure.

Newbsauce 10-08-2008 01:46 PM

In that case.. I guess I'll get seconds should you change your mind.

RotorNutFD3S 10-08-2008 02:06 PM

Why not just ship it??

RotorNutFD3S 10-08-2008 05:09 PM

Figured it would be more convenient for myself and the seller if I just went and picked it up since we both have no experience with shipping larger items. I was going to VA this weekend anyway to see my brother who is home for a little while from Iraq, but the Army just decided they wanted to see him too. :(
On the other hand, it gives me and the g/f a reason to get out of town for the weekend and maybe even look around D.C. a little. She's always wanted to just go there.

Well if you're not going up to see family anymore, do consider shipping it. It will fit in a 48x15x15 box w/o the shifter installed. You want to be sure to pack it up tightly so that it does not move. Small cardboard boxes around the turret works well. I ship miata manual transmissions all the time. A 6 speed to DC area would cost me on the order of 35 minutes + $60 for freight + $5 or so in supplies.

zoom2zoom 10-08-2008 05:31 PM

I have shipped a few as well. I recently shipped a 1.6 rear diff for a whopping $26 with fedex ground. I'm sure the tranny wouldn't be much more than $50.

RotorNutFD3S 10-08-2008 07:07 PM

Hmmm... I think that the seller and I may have to discuss this at greater length then...

zoom2zoom 10-08-2008 09:14 PM

It's just a matter if he wants to muscle it around to pack it up, but it's not that hard.

mighty mouse 10-08-2008 09:24 PM

I shipped a tranny for a 1g eclipse from RI to FL, cost me 150 via ups last year. Pain in the ass to box it all up.

eljefe305 10-08-2008 10:35 PM

[offtopic] dude what the hell i was getting quoted up the ass for a fender from those venders, i'm talking $100+ from FL to VA. [/offtopic]

Cutler 10-08-2008 11:37 PM

This is a good deal, I paid more for that for my 99 AE tranny.....

Cutler 10-08-2008 11:37 PM

Maybe I should pick this up and have a second 6-speed just in case...
