Auto diff = no rubber damper thingy on the nose where the driveshaft bolts. Is this an issue on 5 speed cars? I always wondered this when I parted an auto car. Or, is it just a NVH thing?

1.8 ds will be shorter than 1.6 ds. Only way to ship something like that would be LTL freight. LTL is very expensive unless you have an account, then it's just regular expensive.

If they will strap it to a pallet you could use FreightQuote .com I have shipped a hand full of things with them. If you can ship from trucking terminal to trucking terminal the cost is not that bad.

True Dat!

I shipped my locost project in a crate that was 3'x4'x10' with a 1.8 and trans strapped to the top from Nebraska to Houston terminal for less than $700. He got the quote from them and I couldn't believe it was that cheap. It was about 1,000 lbs.
