We vouch for these.. Built 3.9 and 3.6 cars.. if anyone has 4.30 this is a huge improvement...

I can just swap this into my 4.30? What is the condition? Dont want to buy an entire differential if this can fit right in!! Shipping to 78109?

Yes and no. They are direct fit, but swapping them in requires a dial indicator with magnetic base and a 7-8 inch micrometer. It CAN be done without these tools but I highly advise against it.

I'll PM you a quote.

For all interested, I can swap these in for you if you're local or you are willing to ship your diff (without carrier) to and from me at your cost.

Clarification:

They are a direct fit for the 4.30 R&Ps that shipped in some of the '99 and later cars.

They will NOT interchange with the 4.30 gears that came in all '90-'93 cars; that differential is completely different (no pun intended), and can be interchanged with the '94+ parts only as a complete assembly including carrier, axles and propshaft.

Yes, those (factory 90-93) are 6" diffs and will not fit a 7" R&P.

Thank you, I forgot to include that information.

Is the pinion gear a different length on the 94+?

I'll measure the pinion and post the result. If anyone else has 1.6 specs to compare. I'm pretty sure even if the length is the same, the teeth wouldn't quite work together with any 7" ring gear.

The ring gear is a different diameter, the pinion gear is therefore also a different length.

In general, there is zero interchangeability between individual components in the '90-'93 vs. '94-'05 drivetrains aft of the transmission. Different propshafts, different differentials, different R&P gears, different housing & carriers, different axles. It's not until you get out to the hubs that parts start becoming interchangeable again.

You can swap the *entire* propulsion train (propshaft, diff, carrier and axles) from a '94+ into a '90-'93, but the individual components are not at all interchangeable.

I see, I misread what you said at first Joe and thought you were saying this 7" R&P was different and would only work in a later housing. My mistake.

It will work only in a '94+ housing, along with a '94+ diff, a '94+ carrier, '94+ axles and a '94+ propshaft.
