Just a note and not thread crapping. A 5-speed shifter will NOT work with a 6-speed transmission so just a heads up for any potential buyers.

A 5-speed shift lever can work if you push the forward pin out of the 6-speed turret... still doesn't shift as nicely as a 6-speed lever though as the ball/bushing is too small for the receptacle in the turret.

But note when buying a new lever that there are 2 different 6-speed shifter designs, the change is in the lower shift lever ball/bushing and turret. After a lot of research when I got mine, I found out that the levers and turret changed in design on production date August 1, 2001 from a smaller size to the larger size. Knowing what year the transmission is will help take a lot of the guess work out of it.
