I have a 93 cougar in wich the block gave way on me most is in decent shape. Tranny shifted well etc when the motor went initialy i thought maybe just Head gasket so i pulled the heads and had em worked and then reinstalled it all, so they are clean have about 25 miles on em since 3 angle valve job and mild cleaning from my machince shop if you want em for your 5.0 etc or anything else shoot me a pm or somethinng and i will get back to you with an answer asap. The car is greenish most if not all the body pannels are in good shape the paint is however faded as is quite common for these cars so lemme know. far as i can tell its a lsd rear end as well if that helps and a AOD tranny to.

the whole car essentialy in peices man 1993 mercury cougar with 5.0 liter engine the block is bad the rest of the motor is good. I explained it all up there but i gues ima have to fire up the camera.

FWIW I think that has a 7.5" ford IRS diff and all. If so, you could pull it and sell it on m.net to a V8 swap guy. Sell them that motor too. That's a hard car to part out though case it's low demand and there's a gabillion of them out there. I'd pull the ignition system and sell it in a lot on ebay, sell the ECU, fuel injectors as a lot, etc. Little stuff that cost $$$ to replace new.

 

yeah i just put fresh injectors in there when i did the heads kicking myself for it now damn block is compromised so the motor as a whole is no good. :( other wise i would still be driving it etc.

 

I'd like to know a little bit more about the diff in that car.

 

its irs and lsd from what i seen while checking and changing fluid cant remember if its 8.8 or not though. Works just fine.

it is an 8.8 IRS near as i can tell shipping is liable to be xpensive to the west coast and i still gotta see if they will take it as it is oversized and pretty heavy etc. Prob 500-600 bucks depending on what shiping is. Tshirt is blue as well i work for a printing company makes for alota dirty inky seats if im not carefull. :P

v6 cars had the 7.5 and the v8 cars had the 8.8. but the 8.8 has a cast front. if your looking for a IRS 8.8, get one from a mark VIII, its all aluminum.

 

no i mean 500-600 shipped but yeah the shipping stands to be atleast 100 prob more. Thats if they will take it havent even ran it by em yet i have a rought weight and dimensions estimate but that sucker stands to be better than 150 lbs pretty easy.
