Default 9495 MSPNP $200

Hello all.

I have a used (what I would like to call vintage) 9495MSPNP. This could be your enchilada of freedom into the standalone ECU world for the low price of $200 dollars.

Now, you are probably asking yourself, why do I need this? Why wouldn't I just buy a more current megasquirt? Well, a more current megasquirt would cost you far more! True, this would be like having a PS2 when all of your friends have a PS3 or PS4, but right now, your stock ECU is a Sega Genesis. The closest you will get to boost from that is holding the down + B buttons while playing Sonic the Hedgehog. You hear the turbo spool and blow off, and that is it. However, if all you wanted was noise, you would have bought a whistle tip already.

Learn more about whistle tips here:

Reasons you would buy this:

1. You only have $200 to spend on engine management, and while being ancient, this is still better than fuel cards.

2. You are trying to build a period correct circa 2007 performance miata.

3. You want to learn about standalones at a discount rate.

4. You want to eliminate your restrictive MAF.

5. You want to quit playing cartridge games, and step up to a big boy disc set up, with online gaming.

6. Directions are all over the internet, and there are thousands of turbo miatas already running this. We can help you bro.

7. I will include the hard to source USB to Serial Adapter for the Megasquirt, and as a bonus, I will tell you which driver to download. By hard to source, I mean everyone buys the crappy ebay one and hopes it will work, and spends as much money as the one they would have paid for the one from DIY auto tune in the first place to get a working set up.

Now with all of the positives of purchasing this system from me, there is an issue that I must warn you about. It thinks atmospheric pressure is 55kpa. If you know the first thing about physics, you would know that might be accurate atop Mt. Everest, but not here in the sunny booming South Texas metropolis of San Antonio. I never bothered to fix this, and tuned around it. Fixing it would have required me to not be lazy and retune my car. However, there is a fix, and it does not involve soldering. All you have to do is fix some code to compensate for the MAP sensor calibration. This is how you do it.

https://www.miataturbo.net/mspnp-55/...bration-54795/

So, after you fix this, the tune loaded in the thing will obviously not work. Another reason the tune will not work, is it is for a 1.9 VVT car with a unknown larger size gt28 something running on 1000's and E85 and the VVT crudely activated by a RPM window switch. Chances are, your car has nothing in common with my car. I would highly suggest downloading a new base tune and starting from there.

Why am I getting rid of this? Well, I wanted to upgrade to a PS4. The new need 4 speed game for it is great. I got tired of actuating my VVT with a window switch, and I want a flex fuel sensor, so I can automatically switch back and forth between gas. Right now, my car is an exclusive E85 car, so I really can't drive it that far out of town without having to plan the heck out of my routes around E85 stations or risk running out of fuel or being stranded. It is like having a Tesla, but it runs on corn instead of electrons.

Can't afford $200 dollars? Hmm. You might be thinking "CDM may need some miata trinkets, can I trade some of those in toward the purchase price of this unit? I have a Crank sensor and harness pigtail, black soft top, ABS door panels, driver side rear quarter panel, or some catskin seat covers that I really don't want, and I'm wondering if he would take it in exchange for a reduced price on this unit." Why yes, yes he would. All miata item offers will be entertained. While I may say no underglow kits, hellacrome JDM parts, or other associated BS, anything that my car would benefit from can be traded for.

Alternatively: "I hear CDM has a really sweet duramax, and I have these kryptonite tie rod ends that I really don't want, and he does loves doing 4WD launches at the drag strip, I wonder if he would take those?" Why yes, he also entertains offers for parts on his 2006 Duramax.

Don't treat your car like dirt, get the squirt!

You have a pretty good for sale ad. I just want to correct one thing in it. The MSPNP1 was released in 2007, not 2005. So technically on your list number 2 should say circa 2007. Other then that GLWS.

Someone just got themselves a little pile of gold!

I still run my car on a Gen1 9495 :P ... I am too old to learn new things.
