ArTech Turbo Garrett GT3076R kit
NB1 should work fine, I don't know if NB2 works, not sure if the vvt devices changed anything. You might have to do a bit of fab, cutting and change the intercooler piping a bit if it doesnt fit. Other than that, it should be direct fit.
Very interested. What type of power was "Mitchell" making with this setup? I would hate to lose power steering but for boost its ok. I have a 97 1.8 want to make sure its compatible and what kind of numbers to expect or should I just go with the MK Turbo setup
This turbo will give you indefinitely more power than the MKTurbo setup. Everything will be plug n play for a NA8. Mitchell made 500whp with this setup on high boost mode. You can run it on low boost as well giving you a comfortable 200-230whp at 9-12psi. The mkturbo setup will spool faster though and does come with full exhaust.
Add a clutch and a 8psi wastegate spring and it should be fairly safe IF the tune is good. If you want more you definitely need to build the motor, 6spd trans, differential upgrade, etc. 250whp might be pushing it but 200-225 is safe.
