Nice price. I might be getting some over the summer if I build my bottom end. Might get some anyway for when I do build it. Nice move selling affordable quality parts. What's shipping cost on these to 39759?

Besides costing about 60% less?

They're a copy. I'm not a metalurgist or engine specialist so I can't tell precisely how they differ. I have not heard of or read a report of a rod related failure with any CAT application so they must be doing something right. FWIW, Carillo bought out a small private label firm that was importing the very same CAT rods but marketing under another name. I believe they were seling them for like $450-ish. The CAT is kind of overbuilt, weighing not much less than the OE rod. Seeing as the rod ratio of the B series motors is so low, that makes good engineering sense. It's not going to rev to 9k, it's gonna see some crazy boost and sketchy DIY engine management (det threshold) that quickly destroys the stock sintered rods.

I dont think a hp rating IS an apples to apples comparison. some rods fail at low hp and some rods survive at high hp. it isn't always an indication of strength or engineering given that there's so many factors involved.

i'm an engineer. how about we call it 450 bhp for these rods? just as a random guess.

in a nutshell. if you're not taking the block or crank to the limits of power, pretty much any aftermarket forged rod is going to be good enough. that's why most of us get the cheapest ones.

$299 is the normal price, until my cost fluctuates again.

The rods fit every Miata motor, just as indicated on the webpage. Is that what you are asking?
