I don't offer pistons yet. Working on that. Anyway, the price on rods is not going to get any lower no matter what they're combined with.

just checking great prices if I ever decide to open up the engine. That could get expensive fast though.

The rod train has indeed stopped. I'm not the only vendor left hanging. Call me if you want the skinny

A little more to it than that. In nutshell, US dollars don't buy as much Chinese steel products as they used to. I'm dropping the rods from my site and won't do business with CAT again.

Anyone fitted these CAT rods yet?
I am currently int he process of mating them up to a set of Wiseco forged pistons- and having a "little" issue. The new small end rod/pin will go into the small end of the forged rods- but only by gently tapping them in with a rubber hammer. They fit and are tight- but they wont spin /rotate freely within the rod bushing.

On the other had if i compare them to the stock set - the small end rod/pin spins freely within the stock bushing.

I guess my question is- is the I.D of the Forged rod bushing too small, - or is the O.D of the small end rod/pin too big.

and how to overcome it?- i,m not keen on machining out the I.D of the forged rods small end bushing- there,s not a lot of "meat" in there as it is.

OK-I,LL GET THE MACHINE SHOP THAT IS BORING out my block to bring the pin down a little

Actually i tried in the stock small end rod/pin and it is perfect- but its wall thickness /therefore strength will be less- kinda defeats the purpose of fitting stronger rods/pins

I overcame this issue- i cleaned everything with kerosene, then wrapped some scotchbrite around a pen and rubbed/spun it inside the small end bushing, cleaned again with kero- aaaaaand
it worked- wrist pin slides in nicley and spin s freely.
I knew it didnt need much - but how much ,i wasnt sure.
