Default Catless "testpipe" to fit FM NB exhaust

A buddy of mine does some fab work, and I'm having him make me a cat delete for my NB. I bought my NB with an FM exhaust on it, so I'm not exactly sure what the stock one is like, but the FM exhaust is in 2 parts, and one of those parts has the cat on it.

We're going to make a non-cat version of that part.

I figured while we're going to be cutting and welding and measuring and such, I'd drop a line and see if anyone else is interested. Wouldn't be too much harder to make several at once. I have done some searching and haven't been able to find any cat delete options for the NB aside from custom fabrication.

Is anyone interested? I need to talk to him more and see what materials/time would be worth to him, but he's a great guy (fellow miata owner, but N/A) and he certainly won't be gouging anyone on pricing.

Who's interested, and what would be a price you'd pay for such a piece?

Should be able to make 2.25 or 2.5 very easily.

I would take one if you can make it fit a NA FM catback!

The stock one is 1 piece. Enthuza makes NB midpipes....they are 2 pieces as well like the FM units. They do them with straight pipe, resonators, or resonator and cat...however you prefer. Honestly, if your buddy was willing to make an entire 2 piece mid pipe for the NB with those kind of options, in SS, I'm sure you would get some interested parties. I will tell you from experience though with a race muffler, a midpipe with no cat or resonator is ridiculously loud....loud enough to get the cops to pull you over. I imagine with a tamer muffler it would be more bearable, or with a good quality 18" vibrant resonator and no cat.

So by replacing the cat in my catted, resonated midpipe to be a catless resonated midpipe which leads to a muffler I can expect _____.
