I'd second that recommendation. I have one of the older denon's (1804) so it's 4 years old this oct. Been fanstatic. If I was buying new again, I would definately go up a step in the line though, to the 2308 -- it's basically one up from what I have now. A few more inputs.... Basically same powa....

My new favorite receiver, A bit expensive, but has an on board HQV ReonVX video processor:

My friend (an Onkyo dealer)
I am going to see what's involved in setting up an account with Onkyo, just so I can start using these.

I have some old speakers that I don't use anymore, but can't make myself sell them. You know that whole, "I'll probably be able to use it at my next house" thing. Truthfully, with most of the stuff I have, I can't get better unless I spend a crap ton of money, so it's tough.

I usually throw busted electronics away, unless it's special circumstances, because the cost to get them repaired is too high. I have a fairly nice Denon DVD changer DVM-1805 that I was about to throw away. It powers up and switches disks around, but doesn't want to read media. Don't know what's wrong, but it is a common problem with Denon changers. Used to be a pretty decent unit (Faroujda DCDi). You can have it if you want to pay shipping.

Dave,
I'll measure and weight it to get a shipping estimate. Shouldn't be too bad. What carrier do you prefer?
