Extra-tall Miata Rollbar by TC Design [SFBay]
For sale is a rather an unusual item:
An extra-tall rollbar custom designed for ultimate leg and headroom.
A number of Norcal locals have likely seen my car and its very memorable rollbar.
My first event:
Miatas@MRLS 2015:
It's a bolt-in bar that was designed and built by TC Design, one of the best-respected race shops here in the Bay Area. You lose use of any roof, which is great for California but probably not so good for elsewhere.
The sky is the limit with this bar. No matter how tall and gangly you are, you'll pass the broomstick test.
Similar to other off-the-shelf rollbars, you can install and uninstall it without any permanent modifications except for trimming the interior panels and carpet.
Original install and fit:
The bar has passenger harness mount tabs and both sides have seat back supports. (The seat back supports can be easily removed.)
It mounts to the existing seatbelt towers, so you can't use the stock 3-point with this bar.
It comes with the SFI dual-density padding shown in the pictures, the install hardware, and the front backing plates. The rear backing plates were welded to my car, so you'll have make your own out of steel plate.
Asking $300 picked up in SFBay for this beauty.
I'm willing to ship if the buyer arranges it.
More pictures here, and of course buyers can inspect it and talk to TCD about it before purchasing.
If the buyer is in California, I'll transfer my custom PSH MOWR plates to them

I saw this at Miatas@MRLS. It would totally solve all my problems except getting rained on. If I had a garage and another daily driver I would totally snag it. GLWS.

Haha, yeah. It's great for a dedicated fun/track car. I usually parked it outside with a nice car cover and there was no problem with the elements, but obviously you cant drive it around on an evening like tonight.
