Default F/S Protege Exhaust Cam For Exintake Swap 60 Shipped

Got an exhaust cam for sale. Removed it today from a 95' protege. It's in mint condition. Perfect. For 94-97 1.8's, this will bolt in place of your factory intake cam, adding lift and duration. Typical gains are 6-10whp. Not bad a bad HP/$$ ratio. 60 shipped. Pictures later.

Asides from sorting out the cam gears is there anything else needed for this?

I did some research for this a while ago but lost steam with the cost of Christmas.

Nope, pretty simple for a 94-97 1.8.

Still available. Just listed it on m.net. Guess I'll get a couple pics up in a bit.

Not to go entirely off topic, but what is the difference in lift and duration of the exhaust cam to the intake cam?

I am really curious about what kind of change this would produce.

Anyone on the forum running around with this?

How much work would be involved in getting it in? Total removal of timing belt, or can it be slipped off the gears and then back on?

Then buy it cause someone on m.net just sent me an email asking for pics and mileage on the cam. FWIW< 112K on this camshaft.

It's gonna add a bit of lift and duration. From what I've read, it makes more power from 3500 to redline and doesn't seem to make any difference below those RPMs.

EDIT: And this is for a 94-97 1.8 w/ hydraulic lifters. I already have a spare 99' exhaust cam for mine. Just need to install it one day.

Sell it to the other guy, Pats. I'm not gonna buy it because its too cold to tear into my engine right now and I hate having stuff I cant use laying around.
