Default FS: lightweight lithium (LiFePO4) batteries

$160 shipped - antigravity 16 cell. Drove on this for 5 track days. Drained once sitting at a shop, but no problems after that. Left fully charged/unconnected in my garage after I swapped in a 24 cell for the ls1.

$160 shipped - ballistic 16 cell. Not sure why I bought this. Pretty much sat in my garage charged and unconnected all its life. I added a male->male balance connector so it works with standard chargers and doesn't have exposed pins to short out.

The two Pb batteries in the picture on the left are not for sale.

No chargers are included. With that said, every track day I've come back from the LiFe battery packs were within 10% of full capacity. If I was less paranoid I would just disconnect it and not bother charging it between events.

Do you have to modify the alternator to run one of these?

In practice, no. The 4p cells in car these battery packs liked to be charged at 14.4V. But it's up to you to make sure they work with your car. I haven't had any problems running them at the track. Check the product pages:
