Thumbs up Gt2860RS

Hey folks, Up on the auction block is Gt2860RS. IT has no problems, Its had b&B sevice 700 miles ago. shaft play only with ladies.I don't smoke , so neither can my turbo., I have all the paper work. If your in the Atlanta area serious buyers can check it outt, I still drive it. I've always been scared of lag, but I plan on going bigger. last Dyno tune with this turbo was 289 whp @ Balanced performance. 850$ I may post a video of it running later thanks.

Stats on motor? How bad is the lag? I'm debating between the 2860 and the 2871 for a built 1.6.

Why do you feel that the 2860 isn't big enough? Would you go for the 2871/

It's not really the size, it's rated at 350 crank hp. people have their views, but I believe parasitic hp loss rises exponentially. I don't see it making much more, at the wheels with it , and though it's a 1.6 I don't feel it's tapped out. I'm thinking bigger than the 2871r... know if they get smart and make a 2871r with a GTX wheel hell yeah!

Check out the EFR turbos. They will bolt up to the FM manifold, you will just need a new section of downpipe made to fit it. Might be a perfect match for you.

yeah I've looked at them before, but seeing that compressor map comparison yeah those are nice characteristics for an external package that size...
price tag is a lil hefty, anyone here used one yet?

Can you tell us what B&B means and why it needed it?
How many miles on it total?

Is it off the car yet? Do you know for a fact if the turbine outlet is compatible with the GT2560?

B & b service is when you replace the center rotating assembly....no it's still in the car, it comes off pretty quickly though... About 30 mins out so...

What I meant was, does it have the 5-bolt outlet pattern, the same one as the GT2560?

Why did it have to have the center section replaced?

this is for local sale, that way we don't have to worry about shipping, and serious parties can check it out in person... Thanks folks!
and it was replaced before because I had the wrong fittings in the cooling ports that were bottomed out and not letting the coolant flow, but the CHRA is the turbo basically, and if you don't know that you probably shouldn't be installing one until you read up some more...

So the original CHRA died due to lack of coolant flow?

I think he was saying that the center section was replaced due to the fittings not fitting, not due to the fact of the fluid loss from the leaking fittings which in turn would seize up a turbo right quick if not made right. That is what i got out of this. right?
