Link to USB adapters
Seems like there is a reasonable amount of interest in the old link to RS232 adapters, so I've talked to TurboRoach and decided to make a batch of these bad boys.
What you get: Link EMS to micro-usb adapter (no more serial to usb cables!), built, tested, in a case, and shipped to your door. What we get: $65 shipped anywhere in the US, $75 international. Initial plan is to make a batch of 20, PCBs will be ordered tomorrow AM. I'm anticipating we won't sell them all, but no reason to not keep a few on hand just in case :) Let me know who needs em. |
I'm in.
Let me know how and when to submit payment. Walter Bal. |
Put me down for one as well. I bought one of turbo roaches previous adapters but no computer with a serial port
So if this removes the serial port all together, I'm in! |

A micro usb adapter? So this is not just a regular usb that will plug right into a laptop?
Example: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-d...53%3A26+PM.png (Note that our board will be much smaller than this) |
Can I use a mini usb to regular usb adapter to hook to my laptop? If so then you can pretty much shut up and take my money. Lol
|
Also why not go link EMS to regular usb? Seems...easier? Either way, thank you for doing this.

the board: http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/scr...9-051909pm.php The next spin will likely be more compact (this is already 50mm x 30mm) |
I'm interested in one, do you still have them available?
|
Absolutely. PCBs are on the way. I'll be collecting money shortly, just want to get them here and test for function :).
|
say when and money is yours!

Yes! Finally I see the light!
Went through the lengths of talking to the Texas retailer of the link but was still looking at New Zealand prices. I've been waiting for so long for this I could buy 20 of these .... But just put me down for 1 :) |

But just put me down for 1 :) PCBs have shipped. Should be here soon provided they don't get hung up in customs. I'll start taking payment as soon as I have them assembled and tested. |
Anybody has this installed? I am interested to get one for my nb2
|
He hasn't built them yet
|
They've shipped from china, but god knows how long its going to take for them go clear customs and get here. I'm going to make a component order by end of the week so I can assemble ASAP.
I'm crossing my fingers for having them tested and ready to go next week. Thanks for everybody's patience. |
patience is a virtue...
|
I know, sorry guys. PCBs just came in yesterday (they're much smaller than I expected!) Parts should be here in 3 days, then I'll build a few, test them, and start taking payments/ shipping.
Thanks for waiting everybody. Spinning boards takes time (and fast boards are craaaaaaazy expensive). |
Finally, put me down for one when you have them made.
Does this plug into the link itself or does it connect to where the ribbon wire/ controller meet? |
