Nothing wrong with this, I just prefer the lower shifter position of the OEM shifter in my race car with a lowered seat pan.
This is set up for a 6-speed transmission, with the aluminum transmission cover already installed, making the conversion even easier than typical. It also comes with a red, weighted shift ****. You will need to purchase the correct shifter bushing for your transmission to make this work. The Miata Roadster website documents which one you will need for your generation of 6-speed transmission. These are $300 new (plus shipping) and this one is $150 shipped.

 

Any ideas if that fits a 5-speed?
