Is that vibrant performance the right part for the mkturbo?

They make different ones... check the thread of the turbo housing fitting and order accordingly.

How tough would it be to modify a NA setup to fit a NB1?

This is a Garrett TB2568 T3 turbo. Would this fit the mk setup? And would it be better worse or the same from an eBay turbo. Looks a little smaller. Might spool better? Idk. Is anyone having these turbos?

That turbo looks quite small compared to the one that Lars uses with his kits.

You’d need a Garrett 5 bolt pattern to 2.5” V-Band turbo outlet. You can find them on e-bay, amongst other places. It might take some downpipe tweaking from there.

260 hp 240 tq @8psi. I'm happy and a little confused. Happy it's making that much power but confused because I don't think I've ever seen someone run that much power on 8 psi. Is his Dyno reading high? Is the Mkturbo just that amazing? Everything else is stock engine wise. P.S Tuner said once he let the car cool down it made 270HP. If all the numbers are correct, should I be worried for my rods? Have a 6 speed on it

I apologize if you provided a follow up after this post but my old man eyes cannot find it - any updates? Ever since you shared the mock up I've been...

Do you guys use RTV or any sort of gasket between the turbo manifold and the engine? I think I have a leak there, and I used red RTV when I first installed.

I only put a new OEM exhaust gasket there. It hasn't leaked yet!

RTV isn't up to that kind of task.

OEM gasket + copper adhesive is all I ever do. Heck just an OEM gasket is likely enough but I use the copper spray out of habit.

Scrape all that stuff off and clean it real good. Then just slap an OEM gasket on there and you'll be all good.

It looks like the leak is bottom rear of the manifold. New OEM gasket between the head and manifold. Copper Adhesive can also be added. RTV is 100% the wrong material. You could throw the manifold on a belt sander real fast to make sure it is flat.

No updates at this time. Have had some other things that I have been dealing with unfortunately. I am hoping to get back to work on the cast manifold shortly. Big issue ultimately is up front capital. I don't have a ton, so I can't just pay to make things go faster.

Awesome, thanks everyone. I just ordered a Felpro exhaust manifold gasket and will be using that! It looks like it’s a MLS gasket, I’m assuming that’s close enough to OEM and will do the trick.

Email me. It really varies based on my load and supplies. Currently Coronavirus is messing with supply lines, so some things have lead times.

Stupid question Friday edition. Where in the oil lines does the oil restrictor go? I've tried searching through here, but I can't seem to find an answer. Sorry and thanks in advance!
Edit: Found it on post #1325 - sounds like it's supposed to fit into the top of the turbo.

Yep on top of the turbo feed fitting, then the AN feed line screws down on top.

I have since switched feed flanges and the restictor is built in.
