Without reference to anything that may or may not have been posted prior, Lars is a stand-up guy who contributes greatly to the community and builds a great product. 3 years in and my kit is still going strong. A couple days is nothing in the grand scheme.

Agreed Nigel. He seems like a hardworking guy who cares for what he produces and for the community. Very excited for the kit and to get to hear that beautiful turbo noise

can someone help me with what axle grease is? I feel really dumb but I can't figure it out. Is it just some red bearing grease? Or something I can't seem to find?

I use high temp disk brake wheel bearing grease, I just call it axle grease. I don't think it really matters what kind of grease, that's what I have in the garage.

Yes. Butterfly & cannon brace. It will be some time after the 8th. I'm having a garage door installed, and I can't park the car there until it's done.

Has anyone rebuilt one of these turbos yet? Mine is starting to leak oil out the exhaust on cold startup. Still runs good and little shaft play, but oil seal is shot.

$120 + 1 hour work = brand new turbo. When the time comes, that will be my plan.

Where do you get a rebuild kit? Maybe I can fix up my blown one so I have a spare.

I did not find a kit, so I ordered the medium T3.

Sorry, this is a forum about cats. I really can't discuss it.

Just curious what you guys are doing with your air intakes? I slapped a 3" filter right on the nose of the compressor, which has been OK for the 3 months that I've had the turbo in. However I've read reports of heat + weight killing the air filter, and I'm going to be tracking the car this spring.

Lots of other setups have an inlet pipe that turns 180 degrees back towards the brake cylinders/cowl. However, the MKTurbo kit seems to be much closer to the front of the car, and the headlight motor blocks anything that would come off the compressor towards the driver's side.

I used the FM cold air box, plus a 135* & a 45* elbow coupled together. I used an air filter with an offset inlet. I had to open up the port on the FM box a little bit.
