Terkel I'll let you use your judgement but a couple of those that have posted recently may just be a bit to new for me to be comfortable with unless you want to put a deposit down for it while you are using it.

Sorry guys, I just don't want it to disappear like some others have in the past. PM if you feel you are legit though

I think this is a great idea and I wish more forums established a certain trust like this amongst the members.

However for this particular part, I don't see a drill bit or tap being all that expensive. I usually believe buying the parts to have on hand to add to my tool collection (for others locally to use if needed) is easier to be honest (and a drill bit and tap is like small enough to fit in a spark plug box lol).

the NPT tap is the same regardless what size fitting you use right? The PO of my turbo kit said he used -10 NPT fitting on the return. I need to figure out what tap to buy.

I bought a drill/tap combo before actually becoming active on the forum. Don't even have a turbo yet, just knew that while my engine was out it would be 8 times easier. If anyone in Atlanta area needs to borrow, I'll gladly lend it out locally. I'll start shipping it around after a few friends have used it on their cars.

Are any of these loaners available? I'm low on posts but high on years of membership. I can pm my info and convince you of my adult responsibility if needed. Starting to put together a turbo setup but I'll do this as soon as possible and block it off for a couple months.

This is not in anyway close to the proper way to do this, but I used a 7$ step drill bit to install my fitting. I did a few test holes in some scrap metal to find the correct level to use. The bung I used was aluminum so afterwards it was tig welded tight.

I'll try one more time before I buy a tap set. Anyone still have this as a loaner?

I ended up spend 34 dollars on just the drill bit and the tap alone. The fact that This forum has people that are willing to lend out items such as that is pretty awesome.

I wish I had known this before buying mine

Should have read the forums first I guess.

It was not last seen over 2 years ago. It was last seen about 2 weeks ago when I looked at one of my work benches in my garage. If someone needs to borrow it send me a pm and I can probably get it out in a somewhat quick timeframe.

Is this still going around? I'm getting ready to turbo my car and will need to drill and tap into the oil pan, if you have the communal drill and tap, please let me know and I will send you my address and pay for the shipping. Thanks.

I am also looking to turbo my car in the future. So just wondering if this is still going on.
