When installing the front bar, did you guys keep the hood latch? Is the lower support needed if you do?

Will cutting out that center support cause rigidity issues on the track or if you have to use the front tow hook?

My car adds an extra variable of being seam welded, but I've run without it for a long time and never noticed it. There's a bit of discussion either in the diy aero thread or weight loss thread (I don't remember which) and the conclusion was that it was pretty much negligible. I've also used my tow hook in a couple of occasions and never had a problem.

Everyone left on the list that ordered or wants a bar, I will have made and ready for paint Friday. Once painted the ones that have been paid for will ship out on Saturday/Monday.

Also ordering a bunch more material so if anyone else wants a bar or pair of bars send me a PM!

Still haven't installed mine but I could do a write up for it in a week or two. I'll be taking vacation to swap the motor in my Speed 3 and was going to do the bars/bumper cut at the same time.

Finally got around to installing mine last weekend
Sorry for the glare, it was obviously really sunny and hot.
To coincide with the new front bar I also installed a set of push button Quik-Latches in the bumper to secure near the fender as the old plastic tabs have since snapped off.

Nothing fancy: coroplast, aluminum angle, and rivets. Sealed it up with gorilla tape.

The front bars had a slight revision this round to drop a little more weight and gain some extra clearance around the blinker. So all front bars form here on out will have the updated plate design.
