I've never used these, they came from a trusted member who put low miles on it.
I'd only be offering conjecture based on reviews I've read here on how they would compare to an FCM setup. I do admire Shaikh's dedication to the science of suspension, and the fact that he's answered some really dumb questions for me before. While I've never invested in a full setup I've been impressed with the parts I have bought from him and don't think you can go wrong at all there.
Bernie Stewart used to do some of the machine work for Shaikh, shortening shock bodies etc, so he has been around a while. I have never driven on a set of Shaikh's shocks, so I can not make a direct comparison, but I have had the opportunity to drive various Miata's with many different shocks over the years. Illuminas, AGX, Koni's, Spec Miata Bilsteins, stock NA and NB Bilsteins etc. For the price, I would choose the SD's again hands down.
