Turbo Kit
#22
The downpipe kits are quite expensive, in reality, don't want to make stuff only some people can afford and looking around at manifold availability they seem to hover around $500 mark, although I do try to make the best I can, this is probably part of the problem but they are something I can be proud of regardless of the business side of it

That would be TRAGIC! I literally just got your EFR manifold and full 3" exhaust and am SO impressed with it. Absolutely top notch and I cant wait to see how it does on the dyno. I will echo what others have said, your stuff is absolutely the best available right now. I wish I had invested in crypto early and could inject your business with some cash, because I really believe in your stuff that much. Hopefully you are kidding, but I do understand if it isn't lucrative enough to keep your doors open. Much love from well across the pond Kraken

How dare you tarnish the name of Kraken by saying it is only "as good as" TSE. Kraken's stuff is leagues better than TSE and actually fits our cars and has support.
If cash flows are a concern @Kraken I think I would focus on just top mount stuff that fits every miata combo that works on AC + Power steering or neither and can hit the largest spread of buyers. I like that you offer bottom mount stuff too but I think that might be too niche to have longterm staying power.

Man, I hope you are able to stay in business. I plan on upgrading to your manifold, downpipe, and exhaust in a year or two after I have "proven" my current setup and worked out the bugs of the rest of the system. If I were building the car today from scratch I wouldn't use anything BUT your high mount.
I am waiting for 4 months for my Magnaflow muffler delivery, its the same with everything sadly, feel sorry for people like fab9 and other who sell hundreds of separate items
Andy,
I'm sorry, English isn't my first language and I understand, that this perhaps sounded worse than I originally intended it to... I meant, AT LEAST, if not better
I'm sure you were just kidding a bit, but I had to put this right, haha.
For the love of the MX5/miata community, do what you need to do, to keep the business running. I'm sure there is a way, you're well known all over the world right now.
Full top mount kits, 1.6 and 1.8 with your amazing intercooler piping and engine management would sell like crazy, please think about it

To try to tackle your second question, it really depends on your goals. In a lot of ways, they are very similar and can both get you 300+hp, with the EFR generally being regarded as being better in regards of transient response (e.g. full boost, let of throttle, shift, back on throttle and the EFR will be back at full boost quicker) but the rest of your setup matters just as much. Both are good turbros though, and either one wouldn't be the "wrong" decision. Built bottom end and all the supporting mods are needed to really get the most out of either though in my opinion
