It would be great to have Alternator constrained by TPS too. Ideally you'd want the alternator only working under light or no-load (engine) conditions.

So you kill your battery every time you go WOT? Sounds retarded
On a road course I'm rarely under 4,500 RPM so I could care less about RPM based Alternator control. I have however strongly considered going full loss, and getting rid of my alternator completely. That's a PITA logistically, so I'd rather choose to have my alternator NOT rob me of power at WOT. There's plenty of time on a road course, AutoX event to keep your batt charged at <50% throttle. |
When my alt was dying in my celica, WOT would cause misfire because just the battery didn't have enough juice to make a good spark.
I think full throttle you wouldn't want to pull just from the battery. You would only gain a couple HP anyway. Maybe good for a drag race? |

Does speed sensor work with the analog speedo cabled cars?
Somehow magically reading from the gauge cluster. |

When will these be available? looking to buy a MS in the next week, or at least place the order for one.

These boards are for the current line of ECUs, not the next generation, and are for 90-05.
|
Ah o.k., I am waiting for the "Next Generation" then...
|
I like it - where do we send...
...the money.
This generation sounds like it will be just dandy for my application. Put me on the "LIST". Thanks. M. |

But I haven't finished showing all the new features yet! :giggle:
Boost by gear! https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1346071206 First select if you want to control boost by the two maps (which, on the Enhanced MS2 you can select through the external boost control switch) or do boost by gear, or both. If you select boost "By map", then boost is determined by the active boost map only. If you select boost "By gear, absolute", then the following cells determine the absolute boost levels: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1346071206 If you select boost "By gear, additive", then the values in the cells above are added to the boost level dictated by the map - so the maps set a baseline boost level, and you can increase the boost with each gear. Then, if you have boost by gear enabled, you can enable "Scramble boost", and when you hit the external boost control switch, you can temporarily increase boost by a fixed amount defined in the window above or set the final boost level to ALLOFIT. The store is open, taking orders now. |

Somehow magically reading from the gauge cluster. It does it for the 90-93, but you have to run the wire back. My MS3x is prewired to accept the signal and I have the software ready to go, but I need to get time to run the signal back to the computer from the cluster. Reverent, love boost by gear. Here's something you might want to add: VSS launch control disable, so if the MS sees youre moving X mph, it wont allow clutch slips to engage LC. I have to keep my TPS% threshold pretty high when I have LC turned on so when I'm shifting and slipping the clutch it doesn't hit the limiter. I realize I could just turn on flatshift with a higher limit, but just a thought. This would be good to be able to lower the tps% threshold so I dont need to go WOT using LC as that's too agressive... |
OMG......
So much win. .....Can't wait for the MS3 version of this. |

I know a few cars that do this, but only for short periods of time. I would think that you would need to have a large-ish battery though. Not difficult at all to implement, I may do it.
For those of us without FI, those of us who pay more dearly for every last hp, this feature would be very attractive. Cheers, Craig Northcutt PS. W/a little more complexity you could override this feature with a low voltage threshold. |
Holy fuck I better start making buttons and switches, as I am going to need a bunch for when I get one of these.
|
I need to get on this and order one of these finally...

There will be a difference in spark/injector/pump behavior (which you can tune for of course, or add a smart modifier that kicks in when you kill the Alt). Alt-less systems for fuel injected seems to choose 16V batteries, at least for about 1 minute run time. E.g. |

Remember that the Alt gives you 14.x V, the battery only 12 V.

Good points. The ECU may not be happy either.
The ignition coil dwell is also corrected with voltage, with a proper table. The ECU will happily work with anything above 7.5V. |
