Which pin controls fan? I have 2 conflicting settings on rev's base tune
Hey folks. Im running the base tune that reverent provided to me. I have a ms3 basic and a 1992 1.6 miata. I havnt had any fan problems, it seems to work fine. But I noticed the other day, in my programmable outputs menu that I had what looks to be a fan control.
Shown here:
I ALSO have the normal fan settings setup in the normal fan control menu.
Shown here:
Notice how one has output Inj G, and one has Inj E. Im just wondering which output is the correct one for my ECU?
I also was wondering which pin is used for the CEL? Mine isnt setup with an output programmed.
Your first screen shot:
The right one always comes on with the A/C, if you have it. However, it can also be controlled via PA6 to come on based on Coolant Temperature.
Your second screen shot:
The left fan is the main one. It is controlled with the FAN CONTROL. Notice that this main fan is set to come on at a lower temperature than the A/C fan. Note that TS also has the ability to set it to come on with the A/C, but your's is greyed out. I don't know why that is.
Maybe you don't have A/C. My answer does indeed apply to my '99, with A/C.
InjE is for the cooling fan, InjG is for the condenser fan in case you want to also trigger it from the ECU (on the stock 90-93 wiring it only comes on with the A/C).
He says he has a '92 so wouldn't that also be turning on the a/c compressor at the same time on a 1.6L? 90-93s don't have separate relays for the a/c compressor and a/c fan...

No, on the 9093-9495 model, InjG pulls pin 4S low, so since there's nothing there on the 90-93 harness, it does nothing. But if you were to add a relay and wire the 85 or 86 terminal to pin 4S, it will activate the relay and activate the fan.
