I just got a 96 1.8 MS PnP(from a friend), planning on putting it on my 90 1.6

Research has came back that it will work except.........ECU connector & settings. Is there anything else i should look for? Where do I buy the connectors to the ECU (DIYTune?)

 

The 76 pin PCM connector is actually the same 90-00, but the wiring is completely different.

I'd recommend flipping the MSPNP and replacing it with a DIYPNP--it would be a fairly similar workload, but it would take you to a MS2 instead of MS1. Looking at what the MSPNP seems to sell for, you should pretty much wash out even.

 

I have the MS DIYPNP, I will let my friends rewire everything to the 1.6 app. Other than that, anything else I should look out for?

So it's a DIYPNP (black box) and not a MSPNP (white box)? If so, then yeah it's pretty straightforward. Just follow the documentation for your model year.

Ok, so you have something that in and of itself is not plug and play at all. I presume you've got some kind of homemade plug and play harness with it. In that case, you'd just need to redo the pins on the harness.
