Default Getting started with MSPNP MM9697

I recently bought a MSPNP locally from someone locally.
Supposedly it came off a NB2 racecar, and came with the VVTuner.

After taking off the case and googling part numbers, it appears to be a MSPNP1 for a 96-97 Miata
What do I need to do to start getting this set up for my 2002?

Pictures are attached.

If looking for a "pnp" solution I don't think you can use it unless you plan to wire up a custom harness. When picking a MSpnp it needs to match the year of the chassis so that it can match the OEM ECU harness of that chassis. The only reason I believe this setup would include the VVTuner is my guess is that it came off a 96-97 Miata with a NB2 engine swap.

My initial impression is to turn around and sell this and get an MS3 for the year of your Miata. But also needs more information for what your plans for your Miata are.

I'll let others with more experience and knowledge chime in.

You are correct on both counts.

Sounds good! Even though we're in the process of ironing out the kinks it drives loads better then before. In particular with CL Idle and AE.

Thanks for the replies, guys. The guy I bough this from swears up and down that this came off a NB2 but today when I called him to get more info he mentioned that he never actually ran it on his car and had bought it from someone else... Great. I've got the feeling that I'll end up selling this at a loss and buying a new MS3 eventually. Situations like this are why I hate buying things second hand.
