Default Problem - running super rich - can't figure it out

I am very new to the mspnp but have done a good amount of reading up on it - but I'm stumped here. I used megatune at first, then started using tuner studio (paid for) w/ ve analyzer. I have my engine size/injector size(440)/wideband (AEM) configured well enough I think, and I've tried dicking with the AFR tables but it isn't working out for me, and now the afr table selection is grayed out for some reason.... anyway - VE analyzer has my target AFR at 8.6! Even though I have 14.7 in the basic engine settings... It's probably some stupid thing I overlooked but does anyone have an idea where to start? Thanks in advance

You need to set your target table. Priority one would be finding out why it's greyed out. If memory serves me right, there's an option to say whether or not you'd like to use it, obviously you've clicked "no".

You're right- found the setting on the lambda screen so now I can mess with the a/f table. Does anyone have a screenshot of a good a/f table on a boosted miata that I could copy?

Search. Type in "target", select "titles only" and the MS forum. I came up with 23 results that almost all look promising. It'll get you started.

Another thing, should my map gauge in tuner studio/megatune be moving while revving/driving/boosting? Its steady at 90...

Also my vacuum line is run with rubber hose, going to rerun it with plastic vacuum line in case it is pinched somewhere, I can't stop this freaking car from running at like 8 afr at idle.

Mine is run with 5/32" rubber vacuum tubing from your FLAPS. It's been fine for 2+ years. The tubing wall is thick enough that it would be difficult to pinch it.

You should see something more like 26-32 kPa at idle. If not, either you have the MAP sensor configured wrong or there's a vac leak between the motor and the MS. Well, it would also read a higher kPa and run like **** if your cam timing was messed up, but if the car ran fine on the stock ECU we'll assume that's not the problem.

Yeah its definitely a solid 90kpa, how do I configure the sensor? I thought all I had to do was have it plugged in and select "9093 afm removed"?

And it ran fine before the MS so like you said can't be cam timing.

I can rev the **** out of it, and boost and it stays at 90kpa.

Also - not sure how to tell how many kpa my map sensor is, its at 250 now, tried 400 and it didn't change anything..

And if the thing were pinched, I would think that it'd give me a much lower kpa reading, right?

Make sure that your MAP line is hooked up, because it sounds like it is not--and your car would idle and cruise super rich without it.

I was like yeah right....then I went out to check it. Somehow it came unhooked, I should've checked that first thing! I guess this justifies me taking it to a tuner ASAP! Thanks Ben, I'll mess with it later and see how it runs, should be better now. lol
