Default Retune after upgrading 029y3to to HR10e

Going to the hi res code this week. My low res tune is fine for the most part. Should I retune with the hi res code, or do I just need to copy over values from my good low res tune?

Maybe fine tuning the fuel map, all other parameters should be pretty much the same.

Running into a black hole in my searches now...since I'm running Mac OSX 10.6.8.

Do I need to reload Windows & Megatune to flash the updated firmware? Instructions lead me to "download-firmware.bat" but it doesn't exist on my computer and I see most instructions reference it with Megatune. Please confirm what I'll need to do...

I never got upgraded a firmware from OSX. I always ran bootcamp and booted into windows xp. I can tell you that a .bat file is a windows script so it will not work in OSX. I know for MS3 they provide an OSX/Linux .sh script that will allow you to update firmwares.

Good news! I've successfully updated to the hi res code!

It took a good bit of the afternoon to reinstall all the software on Windows XP and get the hi res base map matched to the low res tuned map. By Matt's (DIYAutoTune) recommendation, I used the basemaps and megatune package from the MSPNP MM9697. It worked like a charm.

I did scare the wife, however. I had initially forgot to reconnect the coil packs...so I had cranked a few times disconnected, then reconnected and made a pretty solid boom in the garage.

The car fired up perfectly, so I let it warm up to operating temps and then let it sit for the night. Hopefully tomorrow I can go out and give it a spin.

If I'm interpreting things correctly, my car was idling between 1.875ms to 1.925ms pulsewidths instead of fluctuating back and forth from 1.8ms to 1.9ms (as an example) on the low res code.
