Why do you want Red Line oil?

this is our LS1 after 3 years of racing, it went in for a checkup. we found all bearings were perfect and piston skirts still had machining marks. we used 5w40 oil on our motor.

Why does an ultra-high performance oil need changing more often than any average oil?

the Race oil does not have any detergents like regular synthetics. It does need to be flushed often. Many teams flush it after 3 races. It does provide a bump in power. say 2-3%. also, it will also clog catalytic converts so do not use it on a street car.
