Yes I've searched, but can't find any intercooler kits for the 1.6l greddy turbo kit? Is there any in production?

 

ebay intercooler + ebay intercooler piping kit.

 

Would you have a link of the specific one?

 

most of the guys here use the cxracing ones on ebay they also sell piping kits

 

 

Damn, that's a whole lotta work, and I can't weld. I was thinking of something that came in a kit exactly for the greddy kit. I am trying to avoid diy-ing it. So I take it DIY is the only way to go?

 

welding no need for welding... use short lengths of silicone hose to join, held together with good jubilee/worm drive clips/t-bar clamps. it works for plenty of people out there...

or you can get someone to weld up some custom pipes for you = $$$

that's basically your 2 best options.

 

No welding is required, Joe went over the top with his mounting solution...see mine here:

IC is about 2x the size of Joe's and I simply used two thin aluminum strips.

yeah, kit looks to be ok, the main part not there though is the elbow into the throttle body which has a nipple on it for the IAC pipe, also you'll need some way of mounting a blow-off-valve, whether it be a simple silicone T-section or a section of ally pipe with a mount on it.

Also, depending on whether you have PAS & aircon may affect how you route the pipework... there's not a whole lot of room to squeeze those pipes through......

search the for sale section for a post by stripes. He should have a few throttle body pipes leftover, with means for a BOV and the idle valve.

Wow I'm sure that kit is awesome from trackdog!! But holy **** thats almost how much I got the car for. Got a 1990 150K miles clean title with greddy kit for 1900$ =) I will do more research tonite and will go for the Ebay DIY route. Save the rest of the cash for a hardtop. Thanks everyone thus far!

 

Yeah...their **** is expensive as hell. It is great quality...but damn.

I bought a simple aluminum FMIC for a CRX and large selection of 2.5" stainless piping with various bends, couplers and tbolt clamps. Gave them to a tuner shop and a fist full of $20's. I had them cut a hole to run the hot pipe down through the fender/wheel well instead of crossing behind the radiator. I can get some pics if i remember.

OP, I fully recommend you pursue this or h2o/meth injection.

 

If you buy the 18x12x3 ebay intercooler you will only need to drill one hole to mount it. Get some long bolts and mount it like so, it will tighten against the hood latch. It puts the intercooler about 1/8" away from the rad and requires no trimming of the undertray to fit.
