Default 215-245 whp someone help?

Guys I need help. I have the stock greddy kit with a starion FMIC Now i need to know what exactly do i need so I can get my HP above 200whp on the stock turbo. I need the cheapest way possible because I want to see how much power this motor will take before it blows up lol. I have a 1.8 motor that is getting ready for a 2.0 stroker kit with full internals soon so I dont care if it blows up. But anyways what injectors would i need walbro fuel pump should i stick with the 255 or the 190 i think it is.

It will require around 12-15psi. either way it wont be cheap.

Well you wont be able to use an afpr, so fuel management is a must, and at the boost you need to run you will most likely need timing control. Also a fuel pump and injectors will be needed to supply your fuel. I think that would get you there. Cheapest solution would be megasquirt + supra/rx7 or other injectors. You mentioned the mx6 injectors, but you may need to raise your fuel pressure to get over 220hp. For fuel pump there is the walbro which you mentioned, but you can also run an inline fuel pump like the pierburg 190(?) that i have installed.

If you do it this way, it would run you about $1k for megasquirt, LC1 wideband, fuel injectors, and fuel pump.

edit: You said you are getting ready for a stroker kit ... why would you want to skimp now on engine management and fuel system. Do it once, do it right, and never have to do it again is my motto. The stroker kit will probably need programable timing and fuel control anyway, so i say go standalone + injectors and then you will be ready for your stroker. Honestly i dont understand why you want to go stroker with your current turbo setup anyway as the turbo will be too small and start pussin out by 5k rpm

I agree with you 100% you might as well get a megasquirt/link/hydra/whatever+ Injectors that will give you around 400whp+ of fuel. Aything else will be a waste for the 2L+ good turbo setup you wanna do later. (well at least I think so)

Dont forget that you will need a very strong clutch for when you go to the 2.0L and a 1.8L rear too. Heck you might even want a Rx7 Turbo 2 tranny and rear.

listen to medysin on everything but engine managment get an rx7 afm 30$ and some 300's 60$ that along wiht some WI 170$ should work just fine, esp if you have a 190 lph high pressure 90$ this comes out to 350$ or you could buy a Split second aux injector, and be out 360$ both of these will get you there. you wont need the bigger pump or injectors as much with the SS becouse it uses one 430cc i believe injector to suplement yuor injection while in boost, this coupled with the rrfpr should easily hit 250 with a good tune

You are on the right path! Great work.

4:1 disc at 15psi will put you at 108psi of fuel.

305cc Supra injectors are sometimes eaiser to find for around $50 bucks.
(108psi of fuel on 310cc is good for 275BHP or 230rwhp)

The Walbro F20000141 is what to get $90. Comes with hardware to install.

You'll need a RX-7 AFM (B Series) to idle the larger injctors. $50-80

Now WI and engine management is not needed and an extra expense. Yes WI will keep your intake temps cooler, but since you already have an intercooler no need for the extra expense on a cheap build up.

EMS, while really nice, is it worth it if you can do it without it on a cheap build?

But budget in some dyno time to make sure your AFRs are good. $100

Maybe an o2 clamp $60

Clutch is needed above 5psi $300

I have seen over 200 at 10 psi before....a FULL 3" exhaust is key. I have only ever seen one 3" downpipe on a greddy though.

The motor can take considerably more than 245rwhp before it blows up, especially if tuned well.

I bet we start seeing more 270+ whp Miatas running stock engines on pump gas soon.
Not with the TDO4H 15g though.

Alright guys thanks for the advice. Im not worried about the 15G turbo. Im thinking of a bigger turbo for the bigger motor. Now im having doubts on the 2.0 and I'm thinking of doing a 1.8 fully built instead. I want to have over 300whp without putting stress on my motor. And I do realize that I will be needing a RX7 rear end for the least. I have an ACT Heavy duty 6 puck clutch sitting in my room as we speak... anxiously waiting for my clutch to give out lol so thats not a problem either.

Regards,

Andre

The 5-speed will fail long before the 7" rear-end from either a '94+ Miata or an '86-'91 RX-7. Plenty of 300+rwhp folks have used the '94+ Miata rear-ends; they'll hold up fine in such a light car, as long as you don't wheel-hop all over the place.

If you're making 400+rwhp, you'll likely want something bigger, but instead of going with an RX-7 TII rear-end, you oughtta just go with a 7.5" T-bird or 8.8" Ford rear-end, as you'll find they're far easier to find and have a much greater selection of gear ratios.

As long as your not worried about blowing your motor, i'll tell you the cheepest way to get the hosepower you want. All you have to do is drill a hole in your intake tubing, get a big nitrous bottle, route the line straight from the bottle into the hole, and there you have it. Next time you feel like a boost, just open you bottle up and BAM! You'll be smokin vetts.

Another question now... When you guys said that a RX7 AFM... is this the one ? are there different ones or are they all the same? This one is off a 89-91 rx7 non turbo.

Does anyone have a pic of it installed on their car ?

The non turbo RX7 VAFM is a flapper door type just like your factory 1.6 one.

If you just want to blow it you could just put the cluth in and turn the boost up to 20psi! You will also need fuel managment.

Bring a video camera with you. Blow up!

Why dont you just chill out and sell your engine when you do the swap??????????????????

snow surfer id love to know the limits of the cars motor but i dont plan on blowing it up like that until im sure my motor is done. I want to put down nice numbers and beat a couple friends cars also. I just dont want to blow my motor while racing someone or something. But ya... as far as injectors go I keep seeing different numbers. I want the simplest way.. I just ordered the vortech discs I have a MBC but i cant boost more then 7-8 psi fully closed so im guessing it has to be the wastegate. Which wastegate would be a direct swap for the greddy one? Anyone know ? I bet Ive asked the most number of questions on this board and I dont even have that many posts so excuse my ignorance because i come from a NA car ( 350z)
