91 miata restore and MK Turbo
Guys its time to get the build thread started!!
Bought this car on September 25, it started and actually managed to get dropped off at my house 300 miles away from where the previous owner had it. The car looked ok, but it had to be worked on or it would soon become an impossible project.
The car looked a lot better in pictures, it had some rust on one of the rear fenders, both the front and some nasty badly repaired rust on the trunk and part of the support brace under the fuel tank; not to mention blown shocks, bad bushings, a missfire, dead iac and a very badly installed sound system. The great thing was that the car only had 82,000 original miles and the engine seemed healthy.
Here are some pictures of the underside of the car when we started all of this!

Right after assesing all that had to be done, we ordered a whole lot of parts and started to fix the rust on the underside an a very deep cleanup.
Some of the parts are a complete timing kit, spark plugs, wires, turbo pcv valver, grommet, oil filter, drain plug, water pump, oil pump, all the gaskets and seals for the engine, motor mounts, aluminum radiator, shroud, fans, and some others that we will show along the way!
here you can see, how the underside ended up, we cleaned up everything down there, fixed the rust on the brace, and undercoated the whole underside. We still have to fix some rust on the floor of the trunk
another view of the repairs
fully cleaned up and painted crossmember

another shot of the coilovers with the super pro bushings from Fab 9
Got this kit from Moss Miata, disc brakes and brake pads, with braided brake lines. They are stock size
The discs look damn nice!
After a lot of planning and looking around, I finally decided on the Advanti Storm S1, on bronze since the car will be painted white with black accents. Good Win Racing is the only seller that has these wheels in bronze...
The engine will come out soon, however we got the valve cover powder coated blue for some contrast with the soon to be painted white engine bay and red coilover tops. We also installed a new radiator with twin fans and shroud
I had being looking for a very long time for this spoiler, the r style oem look is what i was looking gor.

Now here is where the fun boxes start to arrive!!, the MK Turbo kit
Hot side of the turbo before porting
turbo, gaskets and parts of the kinugawa wastegate.
finally the MS3pro Plug and play, its so tiny, however it can do so much its amazing...
I would have prefered that the intercooler had the more traditional shape, since this shape gets part of the intercooler covered by the bumper but this is what comes with the kit.
This is the gasket that came with the MK turbo kit, it will not work with the wastegate since it obviously covers the whole. on another porst someone recomended to use high temperature bearing grease as a gasket, has anyone heard of this? or do you have any other sugestions??
