Post some pictures. And more info. What type of engine management are you using?

Is the turbo seized up? Is the waste gate stuck open?

Post some pics, we can't see much in the pic on the link. Yours may be slightly different.

sorry for pic. I was told the waste gate was stuck open but this turbo doesn't use a waste gate. it uses a VATN (variable area turbine nozzles).

Wilson,

Read the FAQs and stickies on this forum. It will give you an idea of what's required to turbo a miata. Then look and see if you have all the parts required installed.

your username lies.

never used/seen an aerocharger turbo in person. I would think twice...no ten times before buying an untraditional turbo.

No boost could be as easy as a coupler leak. Have you gone through the whole charge system and checked all the piping, couplers, clamps?

Also, put your location in your user profile... maybe there's somebody local to you who can come over and take a look.

+1 on blown pipes, although he said it "runs fine". Assuming it actually does, it'd run very poorly with a blown pipe, although give the exactly symptom's he's describing. I had that happen at the track, and I barely made it up to 60mph, and I was a sitting duck until I limped back to the pits.

Those kits ran on really low boost. He might have a loose coupler that only leaks when pressureized, but seals fine in vaccum.

I heard Yugo was going to use those turbos on their production cars, but they found it didn't meet their reliability standards.

Every Aerocharger fails; yours is no exception.

Call Corky Bell at Bell Engineering and see what he suggests.

Check your couplers for leaks.
