We were going to use the same size cross bolt, but make the tubing it goes into a 5/8OD instead of 1/2 OD. It would offset the center hole for the cross pipe off the pipe more. Allowing for slightly more clearance. A bracket going to the tranny is a VERY bad idea. It will break. We tried that long time ago. After all the brackets broke, that idea was abandoned.

How about the stocker setup? That doesnt brake. Isnt the tranny hard bolted to the block? A bracket there should make it a little easier on the turbo to downpipe bolts.
