BEGi has come through again!
So, my s1 kit came with the 10psi wastegate. Well, i decided that i wanted to up the boost and didnt want to rig it up with a MBC. So i called up Stephanie and she is sending me a 15psi wastegate actuator (adjustable from approx. 12 to 18psi) for no charge. They have my credit card on file and will only charge me if i dont send my 10psi one back. Thats what i call customer service. So often, you spend a lot of money with a company and they dont seem to appreciate it. Dont get me wrong, i have had a couple of mishaps with them but everything has been solved very quickly! Thanks Steph!

I would have rather kept the 10 psi actuator FWIW. If for some reason you wanted to run less than 12 psi (new actuator minimum) you won't be able to. Whereas the old actuator you could run 10 or w/e else you wanted.
Considering you have an MSPNP i don't know why you don't invest $23 in the solenoid and use EBC for those boost levels.

Wes, as mentioned above, the MBC and EBC will keep the wastegate closed for longer which will give faster turbo response. They can cause a 6psi wastegate actuator to act like one of 12psi for example. The main difference between an MBC and EBC is how they operate. An MBC uses a spring to hold back the pressure, so it does open a bit at a time while an EBC acts more like a lightswitch (on/off). Traditionally, the EBC is more expensive because you have to buy a whole controler and stuff, but since you have MegaSquirt, you only need the solenoid which is cheap.
Do what you want, but I'd have to agree with the others here that you should keep the 10psi actuator and up the boost using the EBC.

^We learn something new everyday. Call Begi FIRST THING IN THE MORNING and make sure they don't send you the new actuator. If Steph has already mailed it, then just "return to sender" and be sure on your next order, you tell Steph to charge you double for shipping to make up for your lack of homework on this one.

I know what you're thinking... NO WAY am I putting an $8 POS MBC on my car. Trust me... buy it... install it... spend about 10 minutes learning exactly how much to turn it to get you an 1psi more boost and turn it up as far as you like. It will spool much better and you have precise control on exactly how much max boost you're making.
You also don't have to use the MBC to raise your boost... just tune it so it's giving no more than you're wastegate and enjoy the quicker spool.
I put mine in and cranked it down about halfway... WOW COWBOY... way too much. Backed off two turns... about 14psi... backed off another turn, about 12psi. So, 1/2 turn=1psi... easy enough. My wastegate is 9psi, so back it down another 1.5turns and I'm set.
Now I'm running with EBC (WHICH YOU SHOULD INVEST IN) with a dash mounted switch. Normal driving is 9psi, but flick the switch and enter warp.

To control at 10 psi, a stock gate will crack open at about 5 psi. Then, starting at 5 psi, the gate will be venting exhaust energy around the turbine while trying to speed the turbo up enough to make the 10 asked for. A silly situation for sure. When the turbine finally has enough power to make the 10 psi, the gate will be in position to maintain the boost at the 10 figure.
By blocking the boost to the actuator until the 10 is reached, the gate will delay opening until right at 10 psi.
The gain in performance in first gear is virtually zilch as everything happens too fast, but from 3 thru 5 gears, you will be very surprised/pleased at the rate of boost gain.
